Cure Kids Fiji was established as a charity in Fiji in 2006 when we held the first Race to Survive for AccorHotels which was a five day adventure race including running, swimming, kayaking and community service. Since 2006 AccorHotels race to Survive for Cure Kids Fiji has been held every two years.
Raising funds and awareness for Cure Kids Fiji through physical activities is important for us. Cure Kids Fiji works with the Ministry of Health and Medical Services to find solutions to the major health concerns facing young people in Fiji. Regular exercise and healthy diet are crucial to better well being of the children in Fiji.
Research also shows that children who have active parents, parents who take part in regular exercise, are more likely to participate in sport and remain healthy and fit.
So parents we would like to see you out there setting and example for your children. Not only does it benefit you but in the long run it benefits your children as well.
There is 8 weeks to go until the marathon and plenty of time for people to register to participate in the event as individuals, or as part of a team.
Today, Cure Kids Fiji has launched an online registration for sponsorship
Register as an Everyday Hero and ask your colleagues, family and friends to sponsor you to participate in the Marathon.
All funds raised will go towards the Rheumatic Heart Disease programme that is Led by the Ministry of Health and Medical Services and funded by Cure Kids Fiji. Fiji has one of the highest rates for RHD in the world with one in every 30 children diagnosed.
